Bell Mountain in January

Date of Hike: January, 7-8, 2017
Trail Name: Bell Mountain Loop / Taum Sauk Section of the OT
Location: Belleview, MO
Miles: 10
Elevation Gain: 1164
Weather: Cold and Clear. Low was 10*F Saturday night.
Trail Conditions: The trail was frozen with patches of ice and long sections of snow cover. Lots of animal tracks on the trail.

Trip Description:
Bell Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in MO, but add a couple inches of snow and a crystal clear sky and this place is magical.

Joe planned the trip with an open invite to any hammock forum members, so there were several of us hiking to the top. Skygzr (Craig), Loaner, TwentyBelow, JeremyC, Gideon (Joe), and myself made the trek. My focus for this trip was working on some camera techniques with the GoPro. It was clear and cold, reaching a low of about 10*F. The views and sunrise were amazing as usual. This is by far, one of my favorite places to hike in the winter.
